Kombimatec Crucifix Welder – A Great Time Saver Reducing production times and work-in-progress are the certain ways to improve profits. Such are the benefits of being able to create a crucifix weld in one single operation. Building a crucifix joint the conventional way can require making up to three cutting, welding and cleaning operations to achieve it. The new Kombimatec HDX Crucifix Welder does it in one single operation. It achieves this by way of an ‘X’ welding configuration of the tables and heater plate. There are no vee cuts to be done. Furthermore, there are no square cuts either for reversing the rebate for internally glazed windows. All four pieces of profile to be joined are all cut with an arrowhead. It has been estimated up to 20 minutes production time can be saved by creating a cruciform joint in one single operation on the Kombimatec HDX. The journeying back and forth between saws, welders and cleaners no longer happens. Inevitably tolerances arise during cutting and welding and by reducing this to a single operation tolerances are also eliminated from the lessened welding necessary compared to conventional cruciform joint marking.
